At Alken-Maes, things are running 24/7. That way, we prevent your favourite pub’s draught tap from unexpectedly stopping its flow. A hefty responsibility which you enjoy taking on. You stand literally at the switches, from mixing to bottling. Taking samples, adding hops, managing the brewing room, watching the barley germinate … as a line, process, brewing or logistics operator, you are our master of ceremony.

Brewing, production and process operator

You monitor the entire brewing, malting or cider process and effortlessly spot the slightest glitch. You analyse and take action where necessary.

Packaging operator

Beer or cider lacking fizz will not make anyone happy. Thanks to you that will not happen because you ensure that our excellent products get packaged perfectly.

Logistics operator

Did we mention the show never stops? Both the supply of all raw materials for the brewing process and the transport of those delicacies are essential. Luckily, you have everything perfectly thought out and planned.

How do we view the job of Operator?

You work independently as part of a team. What does that mean? You think for yourself, but your colleagues are ready to lend you a hand when needed. Things are never your problem here, but we look to you, for example, to ensure the shift handover goes smoothly.

In our opinion, a healthy desire to learn is much more important than experience. Wanting to move forward, looking critically at problems and tackling them appropriately, that’s what it’s really all about at Alken-Maes.
Every day is a small adventure. Our organisation is in constant motion, and innovations are always around the corner. Don’t worry, changes are there to make your job easier.

Dawn or dusk, Saturday night or Sunday morning, our sites run around the clock. It’s up to you to decide when your energy peaks.

Patricia, Stephen and Pieter about working at Alken-Maes

I have been working here for many years, more years…

I have been working here for many years, more years than I would like to count and not once have I come into work reluctantly. The fact that I can do my bit for our Cristal is infinitely gratifying.

Improving, improving and then improving some more, that’s our mantra….

Improving, improving and then improving some more, that’s our mantra. The biochemistry behind beer is wildly fascinating; it is a product that is alive. Boring days don’t really exist. There is always something to tweak, test and improve.
