New kid on the block

Actually, our BI team is still a bit of the new kid on the block. But one that is growing fast, as the team has nearly doubled in size over the past year. Reporting and business analytics have become the new rock stars here.

Why, why, why?

Business intelligence looks for answers to questions such as: why is speciality beer X not performing as well? Which outlets hold untapped potential? Is there a correlation between football teams’ performances and the amount of Maes they serve to their supporters? In other words, the big and not-so-big questions.

Business intelligence is Alken-Maes’ cockpit. Based on your metrics, everyone can reach their destination efficiently, from C-level to sales. You could certainly take some credit for a lot of significant decisions.

More than analysing…

Analysing, for analysis’s sake, is something we don’t do. Based on correctly analysed data, you make the right recommendation for the right product to the right department, considering the short, medium and long term. Easy, right?

Can you only see figures, and do you not ever daydream looking out onto the apple trees in Aubel? Too bad, then it will become somewhat tricky. We also want you to think commercially. We want you to be able to empathise with our target audience’s emotions and our commercial colleagues’ approach. Our various departments gather data in their own way. Out-of-home receives figures from beer retailers and our own drinks service AMADRINKS. Off-trade relies on Nielsen and reports via Datastream as well. Is that okay for you? Great!
